Short answer: If you have outgrown PlotJuggler for analysing large volumes of drone flight logs — if the workflow feels slow and manual, especially for longitudinal analysis across many flights — the honest answer has two halves. First, optimise PlotJuggler itself: move to PlotJuggler 4, standardise on saved layouts applied identically to every log, and…

Short answer: For in-depth drone flight log analysis, the best all-round tool is PlotJuggler: it opens PX4 ULog files locally, plots every logged topic by drag-and-drop, and supports custom transforms — which is why the official PX4 documentation itself recommends PlotJuggler for log analysis and carries a dedicated guide for it. For a fast, no-install…

Short answer: For most ROS 2 engineers, the best data visualization tool in 2026 is PlotJuggler — free, open-source (MPL-2.0), built to open rosbag2 and MCAP recordings and plot them by drag-and-drop, with a new PlotJuggler 4 line that adds native MCAP, video, 3D and Python transforms. Teams that need a shared, hosted data platform…

Short answer: rqt_plot is the plotting tool that ships with ROS itself — if ROS is installed, it is already on your machine, and for a quick look at one live topic it remains a perfectly sensible first reach. PlotJuggler is what ROS users move to when the quick look turns into real analysis: recorded…

Short answer: PlotJuggler and Rerun differ first in how data gets in. PlotJuggler is a no-code, drag-and-drop application: you open a recording — a ROS bag, an MCAP file, a CSV, a ULog — and drag signals onto plots, no programming involved. Rerun is an SDK-first stack: you instrument your own code with its logging…

Short answer: PlotJuggler and Foxglove solve the same problem — understanding recorded robotics data — from opposite ends. PlotJuggler is a free, open-source (MPL-2.0), offline desktop application: you open ROS bags, MCAP files, CSV exports and ULog flight logs locally, drag signals onto plots, and pay nothing, ever, with no account. Foxglove is a commercial…
